Friends of Common-place

Common-place is an independent, nonprofit journal. It is supported primarily by its sponsoring institutions, the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) and the University of Connecticut. But like all such enterprises, it operates on a very limited budget. We thus invite you to become a "Friend of Common-place," and have your name or your institution's name listed on this page. Friends can provide a range of support to Common-place, from direct financial donations to assistance with publicity through link exchanges and other arrangements. We also welcome inquiries from libraries and research institutions inclined to support Common-place by providing access to their collections. For more information, please contact Paul Erickson ( of the AAS or the editors Anna Mae Duane ( and Walt Woodward (
